We are a simple family of four. We try to make the most out of this journey called life. My husband was born in a small town in New Mexico and I in a small town in Kansas, yet we met in Houston and began our lives together there. After five years of marriage we relocated to Atlanta. We have three beautiful daughters and a crazy black lab! We may take ourselves on some crazy adventures at times but we know we have our faith, our love for each other, and our family that will get us through anything!

Nesting!!

Well I certainly had the "nesting" bug at the end of my pregnancy with Stella!  And I think it started a month early!  Near the end of my pregnancy some people asked me if I had gotten that "burst of energy" yet?  And all I could think was..."If I don't have this baby soon I think I"m going to be cleaning our neighbors houses as well!"

After completing many crafting projects, I couldn't stop cleaning our house.....including all our vents and polishing the stainless steel appliances in the kitchen!  I"m not sure if I was glad I had a "cover-up" (aka...nesting) for my OCD tendencies or if my borderline OCD tendencies were just increasing...lol!

Here were a few of my nesting projects from the last month!

I decided to change the nursery some for Stella.  So I started by sewing a new ruffle crib skirt!

I had fun with some paint, staple gun, wood, etc..............

........and made some pictures for above the crib!  The middle painting now has an S monogram and Stella painted on it as well.  The two smaller owl paintings have Evie's handprints on one and Layla's handprints on the other for the owl's wings.  I thought it would be cute to include them some way in the nursery decor!

....and the staple gun, material, wood panel, etc. were for the window seat cushion in the nursery!

....I modified a onesie for a hospital "take home outfit"

....and couldn't resist making some matching peasant dresses for big sisters!

......well and it just wouldn't be my girls if I didn't make headbands to match too!

I put together some gift bags to give the girls at the hospital (from Stella to her two big sisters).

I painted a new picture for the girl's bathroom to now have three little girls!

I had seen the idea on Pinterest of putting baskets on the steps to help gather all the "junk" that gets left on the steps to be put away!  I LOVE how much more organized it looks and it gives the girls some great responsibility at the end of the day when they "empty" their baskets!

And I made some little thank you gifts for us to give the labor and delivery staff and hospital staff.....including gum, chapstick, hand sanitizer, and Ghirardelli chocolates!

Well...Miss Stella has arrived so I guess now it's time for my house to gain a little more clutter and my sewing machine to collect some dust :)

  1. You are in your element! I love all the stuff you do! But I just can't figure out how you do it! I need some Rhonda Bachicha in my life to inspire me...move back to Houston! :) Miss you and congrats on your beautiful family!
