We are a simple family of four. We try to make the most out of this journey called life. My husband was born in a small town in New Mexico and I in a small town in Kansas, yet we met in Houston and began our lives together there. After five years of marriage we relocated to Atlanta. We have three beautiful daughters and a crazy black lab! We may take ourselves on some crazy adventures at times but we know we have our faith, our love for each other, and our family that will get us through anything!

July 4th!!!

This summer we had several weeks of rainy days.....and the 4th of July proved to be no different!  So what do you do when it rains almost the entire day?

You start your day with a special treat of getting donuts!  Of course the ones with red and blue icing and sprinkles immediately caught the girls' attention :)

Then you paint your fingernails red, white and blue!

.....and have a photo shoot on the screened in porch!

Fortunately that evening we did catch a break in the rain and were able to go outside and have some fun with sparklers.

......Layla wasn't too sure about them!

On Saturday we had a fun 4th of July breakfast!

On Sunday we went to my cousins house and had a fun little cookout with them!  Evie and I made the star shaped chocolate chip 4th of July cookies!

As usual, Sheri and her husband Chris cooked us a delicious feast.  After dinner the kids enjoyed some red, white and blue popsicles.  Evie wanted me to take a picture of she, Layla, and cousin Jake eating their popsicles!

They had some of the "pop" fireworks they shared with us.  (And Aunt Sheri got the girls some fun light up tiaras!)  Layla wasn't too sure about the pop fireworks at first but was willing to try with daddy holding her!

Evie thought they were fun!

....and before we knew it, Layla was down with everyone....barefoot, trying to throw two at a time!

We ended the evening with a fun game of kickball....(well I sat and watched and played the role of paparazzi).  I really enjoyed watching them all play together though!  It reminded me of all the fun times we had playing wiffle ball in my grandparents front yard when we were growing up!  Such wonderful memories!!!!!  And so happy we can start making similar memories with our girls.

Team Jake and his Daddy Chris!

Team Evie and Daddy...(and Sheri too!)

Evie ended up catching one of the kicks.....daddy was right beside her at the time and went to try and help her, but he really didn't do much.  She was pretty excited!

I guess despite the rain we had a really wonderful 4th!  We hope all of you did too!
