Last Sunday we decided to squeeze in another (and possibly one last) family outing before baby #3 makes her appearance! The Botanical Gardens here has an "Imaginary Worlds" display from May-October, where they have created plant sculptures to resemble various animals or objects! I thought the girls would enjoy it and it would be a nice way to spend the morning.
While I was renewing our membership, Mike and the girls were watching the water in the fountain and ended up seeing a little frog! Mike caught a cute picture of the girls "watching" the little frog! (And yes that is me the "photo bomber" with my camera in the background :)
Started off with the butterfly sculpture!
.....and the unicorn (or uni-horse as Layla calls it)
The shaggy dog!
The Goddess was quite impressive if you ask me!!!! I can't believe they can make something like this out of plants!!!
Layla studied the map while we took a quick break!
I think Layla could have run around all morning! Evie decided she would rather take a rest at every bench she spotted!
The girls were not too sure of the Ogre! We tried to convince them to run through his "ear" tunnel! You can see them on the other side just staring...not too sure.
....so daddy went through first and they decided they would try.......but they were sure to run as quickly as possible!
The cobra!
Just swinging with daddy!
Layla running to see the fish sculpture!
Evie taking a break (again....lol!)....and studying the map to see where we should go next!
I thought the bunnies were pretty cute!
And finally the strawberry, the orange (behind the strawberry), and the grapes!
I'm pretty sure I saw my husband duck and flinch a few times when walking under these vines....possible flashbacks to his Tough Mudder experience...ha!
The girls really enjoyed finding the pictures of all the sculptures on the map!
And the gardens are always a fun place to play around with camera lenses and different settings on the camera!
Overall it was an enjoyable morning and I'm glad we got to spend time out and about at least one more time as a family of four (and a half:)
