We are a simple family of four. We try to make the most out of this journey called life. My husband was born in a small town in New Mexico and I in a small town in Kansas, yet we met in Houston and began our lives together there. After five years of marriage we relocated to Atlanta. We have three beautiful daughters and a crazy black lab! We may take ourselves on some crazy adventures at times but we know we have our faith, our love for each other, and our family that will get us through anything!

My Brother's Wedding

Last weekend we flew to Dallas, Texas for my brother's wedding.  We were so excited to go celebrate with them.  And Evie had been looking forward to this weekend for a long time since she and Layla were going to be flower girls in their wedding.

Jeremy and Nee had put so much planning into this wonderful outdoor ceremony, but unfortunately Mother Nature had other plans:(  On Friday before their wedding, it rained most of the day.  We even went through rehearsal with umbrellas.  However, it did finally stop later in the evening and was wonderful during rehearsal dinner.  But, on the day of their wedding day it rained the entire day.  It wasn't one of those rain showers that come and go....it was just this constant rain that sometimes was a little harder than others.

They handled it so well and I was so proud of them!  I love how Nee posted on facebook, "I am not going to be the bride who is afraid of rain"  And then decided no matter what they were going to be married outside in the gazebo.   The wedding party decided we would also rather walk down the aisle to the gazebo without umbrellas.  And I thought it was so cute when the wedding coordinator told Nee, "I'm going to go make an announcement to the guests that it is the bride and groom's wishes to be married outside and ask them to take a seat if they wish."  Well, Nee's eyes lit up and she said, "Really...they will go out in the rain with me?"  I loved it!!!!

She looked stunning and she and my brother seemed so happy!  (I can't believe I didn't even get a photo of the two of them, but there was too much going on, especially trying to keep up with the girls.)  But they didn't seem to let the weather rain on their parade......and that's when you know it is meant to be....when you realize it is more about the fact they were getting married rather than the logistics of the ceremony.

I wish them a lifetime full of happiness!  And I feel so blessed to have gained a wonderful, sweet sister-in-law!

Here are a few photos I did get from the day (several of them from my iPhone so not the best quality):

This is the area at the resort/lodge where the wedding was going to take place.

This was supposed to be where the dance was going to take place.  The girls had fun playing in the puddles the afternoon before the wedding.

Hanging out outside our rooms a few hours before the wedding!

The girls getting ready!

Nee getting her make-up done.

Final touches!  Beautiful!

My sweet girls dancing while everyone was finishing getting ready.
