We are a simple family of four. We try to make the most out of this journey called life. My husband was born in a small town in New Mexico and I in a small town in Kansas, yet we met in Houston and began our lives together there. After five years of marriage we relocated to Atlanta. We have three beautiful daughters and a crazy black lab! We may take ourselves on some crazy adventures at times but we know we have our faith, our love for each other, and our family that will get us through anything!

Carving Time!

We have decided we want to make it a family tradition to get pumpkins, carve them, and then roast the pumpkin seeds.  After doing the traditional dry roasting the pumpkin seeds with some olive oil and kosher salt last year I decided I wanted to do a trial with some other seasonings this year.  I made some traditional as well as some caramelized and some spicy.  I think the traditional recipe was the best from the three I tried, so I'm still searching for a fun, unique, and yummy recipes.

Evie had fun drawing the circle around the top of our pumpkin so we knew where to carve it!

....but then decided she would rather just "supervise" versus putting her hand inside the pumpkin to dig out the seeds and pulp!

And Layla decided she would rather just play with these two small pumpkins and the scoop!

Then we put Tio Raul and Tio Mario to work carving the pumpkins!

 Let the contest begin!

We love our pumpkins!!!!  Thank you Tios!
