Evie and I talked about Six Flags yesterday and I pulled up some pictures of some of the rides online so she could get an idea of what it might be like. She was so excited and she just kept talking about it. So basically the drive there consisted of us hearing her from the back seat, "I want to ride the one with the swings first. Well, actually, I probably want to do the ferris wheel and then the carous-wheel (carousel)" Good thing it's only a fifteen minute drive there:0)
Unfortunately once we got in the park it started out a little rough:( Evie tripped getting down from the stroller and ended up with a bruised chin and swollen lip. (Obviously the picture was taken quite a bit later when she was all smiles again). It actually looks better in the picture than in person....(sorry Jeremy and Nee you may have a "tough" looking flower girl next weekend)!
After some TLC, we were on our way to find some fun rides! We started off with a hot air balloon ride that we could all ride together and then headed to the carousel. Then, Mike thought we should try this little boat ride. We let he and Evie go on it to have a little special time together while Layla and I watched. (Okay let's be honest, I'm not sure mommy's vestibular system could handle another ride like those at the moment).
Evie was very excited and requested to sit in number 1! She and daddy seemed to enjoy themselves.
All smiles! I think they had fun!
Then it was time for Evie to go on some of the rides she could do alone. *Gasp*...when did my baby girl get big enough to go rides at an amusement park by herself? And I never can understand how I can feel so proud, yet so sad all at the same time!
The first one she wanted to try was this swing ride....yup, not much has changed since the 1970's...I think I remember riding something similar at an amusement park when I was little...lol!
Next was this airplane ride. She was so cute waving to Mike, Layla and I before it started and again during the ride every time she went past us.
Layla and Daddy watching Evie:)
Another ride with daddy....and I actually snapped this photo while we were going around since Layla and I were in the boat right beside them.
We also let the girls enjoy a special treat of some dippin dots before we left.
Needless to say they both fell asleep in the stroller on the way to the car and proceeded to sleep the whole way home!
Oh, and kind of a funny side story regarding the stuffed animal shark Evie is holding. While we were eating our dippin dots, we were able to see the sky lift ride going overhead. Evie decided she want to try it so we decided we would do it and then leave. When we got there the line was pretty long so we asked her if we could do it another time. But she was adamant she wanted to ride it. Of course Layla was tired and getting whiney so after about 10-15 minutes and not even halfway through the line, Mike finally told Evie that instead of riding it we could go play one of those games. She was all for it! So we played a game where you had to squirt the water gun in the bullseye until a balloon blew up and popped. Basically it was Daddy (and Evie) competing against Mommy (and Layla). Well, Evie may have gotten the stuffed animal, but *ahem* it was mommy who won it for her:) Daddy didn't seem as impressed when I told Layla, "It's okay Layla we'll let Evie have the stuffed animal because we get the pride in know we won" (don't worry I will teach my kids to be good sports, just not when they aren't old enough to yet understand...ha!)
