HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!
These two photos are two of my favorite from our Halloween adventures!
So Trick or Treat day was finally here...or as Evie would say, "Trick or Treat, Smell my Feet, Give me something good to eat, if you don't I don't care I'll pull down your underwear".....yes, I had no clue Froggy says this in Froggy's Halloween book Evie and daddy have been reading before bed!
We started off Halloween by going to our wonderful neighbors at the bottom of cul-de-sac.....yes, I say bottom since we live on the top of the hill. And one thing I've learned since living here is you definitely get your exercise on Halloween:)
Everyone brought goodies for some pre-trick-or-treating fun! I decided to bring some fruit and I found this idea to make little jack-o-lanterns from oranges, then fill them with fruit for fruit cups for the kids.
and some cheese and crackers, which I tried to make more festive by cutting the cheese into halloween shapes with my small cookie cutters.
Look at some of the other adorable foods at the party:
Love these mummy pizzas! So cute Christine!
...and Julia these look like they should be in a magazine:) adorable!
We were actually able to wrangle the girls up for a quick family photo.
Getting a quick bite to eat before the trick-or-treating festivities begin!
After Evie ate her dinner I let her choose one special sweet treat...she of course went straight for the cupcake and didn't want me to take off the wrapper until the frosting was gone...lol!
....and what big sister does, little sister has to follow:)
I didn't get many photos or video of actual trick-or-treating since Layla was being clingy to momma, but here is one I did get of Evie trick or treating at our neighbors house. I was super proud of Evie for remembering to say trick-or-treat, then waiting for them to put the candy in her basket, or just taking one when they let her choose. And especially for saying thank you before she left. We had practiced it several times at home so I was so glad to see her in action...so proud of my sweet girl!
Layla did finally let me put her down, and when they handed her the smarties, she immediately looked at Mike and said, "Open it, open it."
It was so fun to watch Evie getting excited about trick-or-treating. Unfortunately, Layla is in such a clingy mommy phase right now. I tried to stay out with Evie a little longer, but we had to cut it a bit short since Layla was having a hard time. But overall, we truly had a wonderful Halloween "season" this year! And I think it is safe to say we are partied out!
