We are a simple family of four. We try to make the most out of this journey called life. My husband was born in a small town in New Mexico and I in a small town in Kansas, yet we met in Houston and began our lives together there. After five years of marriage we relocated to Atlanta. We have three beautiful daughters and a crazy black lab! We may take ourselves on some crazy adventures at times but we know we have our faith, our love for each other, and our family that will get us through anything!

Pumpkin Patch

At the beginning of October we went to the Kinsey Family Farm Pumpkin Patch.  We went with our dear friends Rachel and her two daughters, Annika and Bethany.   The girls are all so close in age and play really well together!   We packed a picnic lunch, then went on a hayride, fed the animals, and picked out some pumpkins!

My sweet girls!

Checking out all the pumpkins!

Layla loved the little ones!

Sweet girls!

Getting ready for the hayride!

During the hayride they stop by the pond and let you feed the catfish!

My sweet little pumpkins!

Love my newest pumpkin!!!

So we had a funny encounter while we were there!  First let me say this place is about 30-45 minutes north of Atlanta, a little bit out in the country.  We like to go here because it's smaller, less crowded, and is open to the public during the weekday.  So as we were on the hayride, there was a group of about 15 people with large video cameras, ear pieces, etc.  They appeared to just be filming scenery around the farm....so naturally I started a conversation with them and asked them what the were filming (yes, I have become my mother).  They responded, "A reality show."  I asked if they were able to share the name of it and they said, "The Real Housewives of Atlanta."  Apparently the housewives were not there yet, but the crew was there to decide the best places to film.....(um for a "reality" show...ha!).  I don't watch the show regularly, but have seen a few episodes and later recognized a few of the housewives as they began arriving....without any children...in make-up and heels....oh and of course one with her tiny dog sporting a diamond collar.  They pretty much just stood in a group and talked with each other.  (As some of the crew were telling them what to talk about).  At one point, Rachel and I took the girls to the bathroom, and a crew member told us there was a chance we may be in the background and asked if we would sign a release.  We agreed, then they asked if we would mind going on the hayride with the housewives....they wanted to have others on it so it didn't look like an "exclusive" event for just the housewives.  We agreed....and suddenly found ourselves being referred to as the "family extras."  There were two wagons behind the tractor so we were in the second wagon...and the housewives in the first.  The crew then directed us as to when we could get on the wagon, where to sit, and when to exit......um..but it's reality right?  Yes....it was all completely contrived!

Rachel and I had to laugh and couldn't believe what we had gotten ourselves into...ha!  And now I've come to the conclusion that a "house" "wife" doesn't even have children, drives a very fancy car, and goes to a "family" farm in heels, hair done, make-up done....just to gossip.....and a "stay-at-home mom" gets with her friend and together they tote around two four year olds who are giddy and excited, two newly potty trained two year olds, and a newborn in a Bjorn, drives an average vehicle that is at least five years old and in need of a wash, and can't even remember if they put on make-up or combed their hair that morning!

Can't wait to see if we actually make the airwaves in November!!!
