We are a simple family of four. We try to make the most out of this journey called life. My husband was born in a small town in New Mexico and I in a small town in Kansas, yet we met in Houston and began our lives together there. After five years of marriage we relocated to Atlanta. We have three beautiful daughters and a crazy black lab! We may take ourselves on some crazy adventures at times but we know we have our faith, our love for each other, and our family that will get us through anything!

Thanksgiving!

Well, we sure have a lot to be thankful for this time of year!  We know we are blessed in so many ways!  This Thanksgiving felt different than any other Thanksgiving because we were going to be staying in Houston instead of traveling.  It felt odd since I have never had a Thanksgiving without extended family so it was a little sad at first.  However, it turned out to be a wonderful holiday.

On Wednesday Mike took the day off of work and we decided to take Evie to the zoo!  It was a beautiful day and we all enjoyed ourselves.  Her favorite part of the zoo seemed to be the "natural encounters."  It was so fun to watch her run around and look at all the animals through the windows!

watching the fish with daddy!

checking out more animals

"those elephants are really big!"

she loved brushing the animals in the petting zoo

feeding the pigeons!

On Thanksgiving day we decided to go the parade in downtown Houston.  Fortunately the weather was beautiful and it was a fun parade!

waiting for the parade to begin!

watching the bands play music

a big sunshine balloon..........

....but for some reason it was more fun to collect Acorns.....and this is what she did for the remainder of the parade:0)!

After the parade we went home and had our Thanksgiving feast.  I have to say I think Mike and I did pretty good with roasting our first turkey!  And the turkey gravy didn't turn out too bad either.  I did cheat and do just boxed stuffing, but cooked the mashed potatoes and corn too!  I think Evie is like her mommy and Thanksgiving meals will be one of her favorites!

Daddy put up the Christmas lights outside while we made the dinner and later we put up our Christmas tree and other indoor decorations.  This year the nativity, glass snowmen, and breakable ornaments were all placed in "above ground" locations.....lol!  And somebody thought the pearl garland was a pretty amazing necklace:0)

Overall, this Thanksgiving turned out much better than I imagined it would.  I'm so thankful for my wonderful husband and growing family!!!!
