We are a simple family of four. We try to make the most out of this journey called life. My husband was born in a small town in New Mexico and I in a small town in Kansas, yet we met in Houston and began our lives together there. After five years of marriage we relocated to Atlanta. We have three beautiful daughters and a crazy black lab! We may take ourselves on some crazy adventures at times but we know we have our faith, our love for each other, and our family that will get us through anything!

Evie's First Ballet Recital

Evie had a wonderful year of ballet at Studio Atlanta Dance this last year!  She was always so excited to go to dance every Wednesday and was frequently performing ballet around our house :)  She also had a recital on May 19th.  This year the theme for the recital was "Dancing at the Movies."  Each group had a song from a movie.  Evie's group performance was to "My Favorite Things" from The Sound of Music.  She looked super cute in the blue/yellow costumes and she proved to me again how great she is with her memory!

They had a picture day about a month before the recital and we got to go into the class and watch them practice performing their dance.  I was able to snap a few photos of her in the studio :)

And on their last day of class they got to wear any costume they wanted.  Such a fun, cute group of girls this year!

They also had a little "party" following the class!

Grandpa and Grandma were still here visiting so they got to watch her last class!  I know she was excited to have them there to watch her!

The following Saturday (the day before the recital) they had a dress rehearsal at the theater.  I was able to take a few photos and video her during the rehearsal as well!  In the picture below, they were getting started with their teacher, Miss Kate.  Evie loved Miss Kate and will really miss her next year (Miss Kate is due just four days after me and is going to be a stay at home mommy :)

Here is their performance during rehearsal!

On the way to the performance!  She seemed very excited to be "on the stage."

The programs :)

Waiting for the show to begin :)

The recital began with a woman dressed up as popcorn singing a song about being at the movies.  Then the performances for each group started.  There were about 10 groups performing during Evie's recital time.  (And I also learned quickly that pregnancy hormones and wee ones in ballet costumes are a tough combination.  I was already crying when the first group entered the stage.....and it wasn't even Evie's group..lol!)

Evie's cute little group!

Evie did so great and we were really proud of her :).  It amazes me how...at three years old...she can go up on the stage with lights on her and hundreds of people in the audience and smile and perform!  We were a super proud mommy and daddy!

There is a beautiful park in the town square across from the theater but unfortunately it was raining before and after her performance.  We decided to go to a little ice-cream shop next door and treat she and Layla to ice-cream and give her the little gifts we had for her!

Sweet sisters!  (And a note to MY sister before she says anything about it...because I know she will...ha!  It was ironic that I happen to have a turquoise and yellow dress for Layla too.  And I even gave Layla the option of two different dresses to wear and she chose this one :)

Layla gave her a ballerina teddy bear :)

.....and mommy and daddy gave her a ballerina necklace!

 Ice-Cream!!!!!

And I thought I'd include a few of the photos I took of Evie in her ballet costume as well.  My little girl is certainly growing up!
