We are a simple family of four. We try to make the most out of this journey called life. My husband was born in a small town in New Mexico and I in a small town in Kansas, yet we met in Houston and began our lives together there. After five years of marriage we relocated to Atlanta. We have three beautiful daughters and a crazy black lab! We may take ourselves on some crazy adventures at times but we know we have our faith, our love for each other, and our family that will get us through anything!

Rain, Rain Go Away!

This is one more post I've saved since last September and yet another perfect example of ideas for us to do during the current rainy days!

Lightbox fun!  My girls love playing with items on the light box.  I had bought a simple light tracer from Hobby Lobby (don't forget to use their 40% coupon from their website or phone app!).  It's not as fancy as an actual light box, but it serves the same purpose!  Rainy days are perfect for it, especially now that it doesn't get dark until later at night when it is bedtime!

Contact paper creations!  We love to make a shape outline (butterfly in this case) with construction paper and stick it to contact paper.  The girls then add small pieces of cut tissue paper!  Once they have added as much as they want we add another piece of contact paper to keep it together.  Cut around the edges and hang it on the window!  Makes a beautiful "stained glass" appearance!

I've seen some great ideas for doing this to make an Easter cross or Easter Egg!  We may have to work on those this afternoon!

(It's crazy to look back at these pictures from September and see how much my sweet little girl has grown!)

Our finished masterpieces!

More lightbox fun with letters, clear containers, and water beads!

We also collected several (flat) nature items and put them between two pieces of contact paper.  It was fun to look at them on the lightbox!

Crazy art time!  Sometimes we just grab the boxes of stickers, stamps, markers, crayons, paint and I let the girls go to town creating their masterpieces!

And what's a rainy day without a little noise!  We like to pull out the pots, pans, bowls, utensils, etc. and create a rock band!  I may have a headache when they are done but they sure do have fun!
