Last Wednesday we celebrated Daddy's Birthday! (His birthday is the second of five of our March Madness Birthdays!) I had asked if he wanted to go out to dinner or if he wanted us to cook something. He requested our homemade pizza, some red wine, and a pineapple upside down cake! The girls and I had so much fun making his birthday dinner!
That morning Evie helped me make the pineapple upside down cake. She was very confused for a while and couldn't understand why we make it upside down. She thought it would get very messy:) She thought it was pretty cool though when we turned it upside down and the pineapples and cherries ended up on top!
That evening the girls helped make the pizza......and taste testing is always a requirement when cooking!
Over the weekend we had asked Mike what he wanted for his birthday. He told the girls he didn't want anything but kisses (and a new truck later this year). Well on Monday when I was eating lunch with the girls, Evie told me, "Mommy, daddy said he didn't want a present you can wrap and open. He just wanted kisses and a new truck and you can't wrap those. But I was thinking he really likes coffee so maybe we should get him a new coffee cup. And his favorite color is blue so we should find one that is blue!" I just loved how she was thinking about him and what he liked. So the next day we went to Target and she picked out a coffee cup for him:)
Here are the girls decorating the wrapping paper for his presents. Evie was sure to use blue markers. She wrote her name, daddy, and her version of I love daddy. Then drew a picture of a blue truck!
Everything was ready for daddy when he got home!
We hope you had a wonderful birthday daddy! We loved celebrating you!
