We are a simple family of four. We try to make the most out of this journey called life. My husband was born in a small town in New Mexico and I in a small town in Kansas, yet we met in Houston and began our lives together there. After five years of marriage we relocated to Atlanta. We have three beautiful daughters and a crazy black lab! We may take ourselves on some crazy adventures at times but we know we have our faith, our love for each other, and our family that will get us through anything!

Heritage Park Trail

It's hard to believe on this weekend two years ago we moved to Atlanta just in time for the ice storm....sitting for three days in a nearly furniture-less house since our moving truck could not get through the ice.  And this year we are enjoying a beautiful day in the low 70's!

Mike didn't have class this weekend so the girls and I took advantage of having time with him.  We ventured out to Heritage Park.  A short trail just a couple miles from our house!  It was the perfect weather and the perfect morning with my family!

Daddy and his girls!

There was a man made overlook bridge where you could see the creek.  Evie thought it made a perfect stage for performing!  I guess the world really is her stage!

The girls had fun running for a while!

Layla was miss curious checking out some berries.  She also found a centipede, a worm (so wish I would have had a picture of her reaction after touching the worm), and for a while thought she had to touch every nail in the railroad ties along the side!

Then Miss Independent wanted to run ahead....by herself!  She would run ahead then turn around put her hands up and tell us, "stop."  Then she ran again, turned around, but this time said, "No stop, I can do it!"

Relaxing by the creek while we let Kavi (our black lab) play in the water for a bit!

And yes, I am not responsible for the three-year-old fashion style :)  I'm thankful she wore her tennis shoes....the idea of pants was too much of a battle.  So glad she was finally convinced her to wear this gray skirt instead of the sparkly red one!

A little blurry, but she wanted me to take a picture of her jumping off the bridge!

I guess we wore Layla out since she fell asleep for the last 10 minutes.

Okay, excuse my crazy hair and no make-up Saturday, but I thought it was cute that even though she fell asleep she was sure to not drop her berries in her hand! (And yes, she was so tired she stayed asleep as I put her in her carseat, drove home, got her out of her carseat, and put her in her bed:)

What a wonderful way to start our weekend!
