We had Layla's one year check-up today and feel so blessed to have a very healthy one year old. She is our little peanut at 23% for weight and 63% for height! She did great and even showed off some of her "dance moves" for Dr. Beckford!
She has four teeth (two on top and two on bottom). Another two are just coming through her gums on the top and it appears two more on the bottom are trying to come through as well....poor baby! Over the last few weeks I've been working on weaning her and transitioning to whole milk. She has done so great and I'm not gonna lie, it's probably been harder for mommy than Layla:(.....although I did enjoy a nice, cold beer with my husband the other night after the girls were in bed!
Her personality is just blossoming and we just love watching her. She is our little wanderer and explorer. She seems to just love investigating her surroundings!
She loves saying mama, dada, ball, bubbles, pop, tickle-tickle-tickle, uh-oh, and of course "no" or "no-no-no." the "no" is usually as she is attempting to do something she is not supposed to be doing, such as dropping her food on the floor, heading toward Kavi's dog food/water bowl, climbing on something, etc.
Here is she with her "uh-oh":
She also has some favorite songs.....and it is so cute to see her eyes light up when she hears them. She usually gets so excited and starts "dancing" along to them. Her current favorites seem to be "If You're happy and you know it" and the "hotdog" song from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.
Showing off her dance moves: (sorry about the sideway video...need to figure out how to change it from my phone)
Showing off her dance moves again while skyping grandma patty:0)
She also is my little climber! She attempts to climb on any small chair or stool she can find! I used to be able to get dinner ready while she and Evie were playing in the toy room since I can easily hear them and see part of the toy room from the kitchen. But after finding her climbing on the chairs I have to be careful! One good side to the climbing is she has now figured out how to climb on/off her little "car".....whether or not she's a good driver is debatable:0)
Her usual climbing in Kavi's water bowl.....a constant battle!
"But Mom!"
Different Day....same battle!
I didn't know Kavi's water could double as a jewelry cleaner!
My little climber! This is often how I find her if I am not watching!
.....and again......
......and again!
There is usually trouble if it is quiet in the other room!
She still watches everything Evie does and often tries to attempt to do the same. Sometimes the imitation is not always so great......monkey see, monkey do......let's just say dinner time is never quiet around our house!
Here she is attempting to "chase" Evie (since Evie has her blanket)!
I still can't believe how blessed I have been with these two beautiful girls!
