We are a simple family of four. We try to make the most out of this journey called life. My husband was born in a small town in New Mexico and I in a small town in Kansas, yet we met in Houston and began our lives together there. After five years of marriage we relocated to Atlanta. We have three beautiful daughters and a crazy black lab! We may take ourselves on some crazy adventures at times but we know we have our faith, our love for each other, and our family that will get us through anything!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentines Day!

We had a truly wonderful Valentine's Day this year!  We felt extra loved since we have added another little Valentine since last year!  We feel just so blessed and were very excited to spend a night at home with our girls, spending extra time showing them how much we love them!

Their Valentine envelopes I made to hang on their chairs!

We had a very kid friendly dinner with some of the girl's favorite foods!  And I, of course, had the best master chef in the house!

First item on the menu:  pizza!  Flattening the pizza dough and adding some sauce!

Sprinkle the cheese!

And carefully adding the heart shaped pepperoni!

The full menu:  heart shaped pepperoni pizza, heart shaped skewered fruit, and yogurt with some sprinkles on top!  I think it's definitely a meal fit for a princess!

And I can't forget the pink (strawberry) milk!

Table decked out in red:  check       Candles: Check
Two of my favorite valentines:  check!

Layla was a fan of her strawberry milk too!  (Thank goodness I didn't thaw some of her milk for nothing:0)

Kisses from daddy!!!!!

I think it's safe to say someone enjoyed their Valentine's dinner!

 and the strawberry milk!

After dinner, the girls opened their Valentine gifts from mommy and daddy:

And special Valentine popsicles for dessert!

Evie also wanted to make a valentine for Kavi (our black lab).  In one of her current favorite books (The Day it Rained Hearts) the little girl makes a "dog collar" valentine for her dog friend, so this is what we decided to do for Kavi!  Here she is carefully stringing the hearts:

The finished product and Kavi's special treats!

Giving Kavi her Valentine!

I think she likes it!

Waiting patiently for her valentine treat!

For Mike and I, I told him I didn't really want him to get me anything and I just wanted to focus on the girls.  But I know him too well and knew he wouldn't go for that, so I said....okay, we had a $15 limit on a gift for each other.

He is always very good with words and writing sweet notes in cards!  I love reading and rereading what he writes.  It really means so much to me!  So this was the perfect valentine's gift for me!

I tend to rely more on my creative side!  I also felt that with him so busy with work and his MBA program I wanted to make sure we had date nights.  Since the girls go to bed around 8-8:30, I thought we should make it a point to have "dates" once they were asleep.  So I came up with this "stay at home- date night"  I upcycled and oatmeal container and created some date cards to go inside it!  I can't wait for our first date night!

I am definitely feeling very loved this Valentine's Day!  I hope you all had a wonderful day with your loved ones as well!
