We are a simple family of four. We try to make the most out of this journey called life. My husband was born in a small town in New Mexico and I in a small town in Kansas, yet we met in Houston and began our lives together there. After five years of marriage we relocated to Atlanta. We have three beautiful daughters and a crazy black lab! We may take ourselves on some crazy adventures at times but we know we have our faith, our love for each other, and our family that will get us through anything!

Few Funnies for the Week!

I just couldn't resist blogging about a few funny encounters that happened this week!  They've been on my mind the last couple days so thought I'd share them with you:0)

Reason to laugh #1:
Mike, the girls, and I went to REI to look at their double strollers.  We had been there for a while and Evie started to get restless so Mike took her on a walk around the store.  Layla was sleeping in her car seat which was on the shopping cart near me.  A young girl (I'm guessing to be about Jr. High age) stops near the cart, looks at Layla, then looks at me several times.....followed by this conversation.

Girl:  She's really cute
Me:  thank you
girl:  How old is she?
Me:  7 weeks
****long pause and several more glances at Layla and me*****
(finally) girl:  Are you babysitting?
Me:  (with a big smile on my face thinking she MUST be asking because I look so young....lol!)....but I say, No, she's my daughter
Girl:  Oh
****long pause*****
Girl:  Does she look like her dad?
Me:  (wanting to laugh and now realizing why she thought I may have been babysitting)  Yes, she does:0)
Girl:  Does he have dark hair?
Me:  yes

About this time, Mike and Evie return....

Girl:  Oh he does have dark hair, but your other daughter has lighter hair (I wasn't about to try and explain yes, but she still looks exactly like her daddy).
Girl:  How old is she? (asking about Layla again)
Me:  7 weeks
Girl:  (glancing at me again)...then pats her tummy, looks at my tummy and says, "wow, it really went down)
Me:  (lol), yes
Girl:  I thought it would take at least two months
Me:  no response, but thinking....well we are a week away from 2 months...lol!

I had many interesting thoughts about this social encounter, but needless to say it put a smile on my face all week!

Reason to laugh #2:

So I am at the grocery store, I'm pushing Evie in the "race car" shopping car full of groceries while Layla is sound asleep in the Baby Bjorn.  I stop to put a bottle of wine in the cart (for our dinner guests we had on Wednesday evening).  As I put it in the cart and start pushing it again, another lady says to me, " I think you might need two of those!"  LOL!  And this was with both my girls being perfect angels!

Reason to laugh #3:

Came across this new emoticon this week and it just made me giggle:

(  .  ) (  .  )
It means...."time to breastfeed"  I apologize in advance if one day I decide to post this as
my status on facebook!

Hope you all found multiple reasons to laugh this week.  Have a wonderful memorial day weekend!
