My first project was to repaint the small children's table I had in the nursery to match Evie's new room. This poor table has been repainted three times now since it started at a table I had used in my preschool classroom! It has gone from blue with caterpillars, butterflies, and ladybugs to red, black, and white patterns and now to pastel birds!
It's great to have a basement where I was able to work on this project and Evie was able to play with the balls and her riding toys! At times Kavi (our black lab) would come close to sniff the paint and I would said, "No, no Kavi, it's wet." So when I first put the table in Evie's room she would look at it and say, "no, no...wet!" It didn't take long to convince her it was now dry and okay to touch it. And the day I walked in her room (after being gone for only a few minutes to put something away in the nursery) and found her standing on the table I knew she was okay with touching it!
Then the more I thought about, I realized I should paint one for baby girl #2 as well. We took the red out of the nursery and decided to do light pink with the black and white.....to coordinate at least a little with Evie's room! And of course it helped satiate my need for painting something small since I can't paint walls right now:0)
I've started cutting some fabric for some Easter pillowcase dresses and bunny applique onesies. I also started some new hairbow designs made from felt, stretch elastic, and silk.....and I get to use a little fire too!!!!! This is one happy crafter......or maybe it's a happy nester?
