We are a simple family of four. We try to make the most out of this journey called life. My husband was born in a small town in New Mexico and I in a small town in Kansas, yet we met in Houston and began our lives together there. After five years of marriage we relocated to Atlanta. We have three beautiful daughters and a crazy black lab! We may take ourselves on some crazy adventures at times but we know we have our faith, our love for each other, and our family that will get us through anything!

Healthy 2 year old!

We went for Evie's 2 year old check up this week and are so truly blessed to have a healthy 2 year old.  She did so great during her appointment and is in the 50% for height and weight!  She was so very brave when they pricked her finger to check her iron levels and when she had to get her shot!  I was so anxious about it and tried to explain it to her before the nurse came in, but I know her two year old mind could only understand it to an extent.  She did better than I would have ever imagined!!!!

I had fun filling out the questionnaires and seeing how great she has been developing.  It caught me off guard when the nurse asked me how many words she has.....uh, too many to count and by the way she has mastered personal pronouns, present progressives and negation!   Of course I didn't say that to the nurse and please know I feel so truly, truly blessed with her language development!

We are gearing up for a busy fall as we will be continuing Little Gym and story time at the library as well as a mommy and me ballet and a music class!  We are looking forward to it!

I know I've blogged before about how much I love watching her imagination.  She has always been an "observer."  I have to be honest that I didn't realize quite how much of an observer she was until I saw her "nurse" her babies, appropriately put disposable breast pads in her shirt, and the other day attempting to put the breast pump parts (not attached to the pump) on.  She definitely puts a smile on my face every day!    One of my favorites things to do is to walk through the toy room or house after I've made dinner and see what she was playing with.

Here is just a little insight to our day:

Milk Margarita anyone?

Our little Diva!

Notice the baby is lying the exact same way as Layla:0)

Did I tell you how much Evie makes me smile:0)

Counting her stamps

She has also been very into "dancing" lately.  She calls her skirts "dancing skirts" and now refuses to wear shorts.  She almost wouldn't wear the dress I had picked out the other day because she needed her, "dancing stirt."  Well....they were all in the dirty laundry so fortunately I was able to convince her this was a special dancing dress:0)

Here is a sneak peek at our dancing queen....she's quite the choreographer too:0)

and our barefoot princess....(with a dancing skirt)...picking potatoes in the garden with her great grandpa and grandpa Nordhus:0)
*the video starts off sideways but the camera does get turned in the middle:)

"It tan't worting"  (It can't working)

And just one to show that she is afterall two and we wouldn't be here without some dramatic whining.  She was so excited that she found this old cell phone in her toy box.....but was upset she could not get it to work.   Kind of crazy to think her generation thinks all cell phones should take pictures and videos.....and my generation grew up thinking all phones had a cord and were attached to a wall:0)
