This year we did a lot of fun Easter activities leading up to the holiday itself!
We added Easter grass, plastic eggs, baskets, and egg holders to the sensory table. The girls have had fun playing with it, but Layla usually wants to make sure she has shoes on because she doesn't like the feel of the Easter grass on her feet :) (from when it falls on the floor)
such concentration!
I also stole this idea (Pinterest of course) to use an egg carton and plastic eggs as a fun way to serve snack!
The girls seemed to have fun with it!
We also had an Easter egg bubble bath! We decorated foam egg cutouts and added some plastic eggs as well!
They had fun finding all the eggs in the bubbles and "decorating" their bath!
Of course we had to dye Easter eggs!
They had fun doing this with daddy!
After bath the eggs were dry enough to decorate with the stickers.
Evie is very observant of what color each princess wears, so here are her color coordinated eggs!
New pajamas sent from Grandma Sheryl and Grandpa Bobby! The girls loved them and couldn't wait to wear them! (And they have already been washed and worn again!)
And while the girls slept, the Easter bunny filled their baskets with goodies!
The girls were so excited when they saw their baskets in the morning!
I did my best to try and teach Evie about the true meaning of Easter. We did make a contact paper/tissue paper cross we put on the window (I didn't get a photo of it) and drew pictures about it with our sidewalk chalk outside. Well I was really proud of her tonight as we sat down for dinner...Layla was in the other room and we were trying to get her to come to the table so we could pray and eat. I heard Evie say, "Layla you need to come and pray with us. It's really important because the mean people put Jesus on the cross and he does nice things for us now. So it's really important we pray and say thank you for our food." I know she was listening and trying to understand some of our discussions:)
We had a wonderful Easter day but it was also shared with Layla's birthday so I'll write more about when I post about her birthday celebration!
My sweet girls as we were leaving church!
(Sidenote: Evie insisted on putting her headband on herself:)
We hope everyone had a wonderful Easter as well!
